CASSIA

@ Lido Berlin

ALLT

@ Lido Berlin

Formed in 2020, Allt is a progressive metalcore band from Karlskoga, Sweden. Known for their audiovisual storytelling and innovative approach to metalcore, Allt has just released their highly anticipated debut album, „From The New World.“ The name Allt, which means „everything“ in Swedish, reflects the band’s philosophy towards music: never to be confined within genre boundaries and continually delivering conceptually rich compositions inspired by the world around us and the stories and myths told through the ages. After the release of their early EPs Dark Waters (2020) and The Seed of Self-Destruction (2021), Allt quickly earned recognition for their genre-transcending sound. What began as a studio project soon grew into a live force, with tours alongside Animals as Leaders and Bleed from Within laying the foundation for the next chapter of their journey. In October 2024, the band unveiled their debut album From The New World, a concept record exploring collapse, survival, and the human condition. Praised as one of the most compelling metalcore releases of the year, the album connected deeply with audiences and set a new standard. Its success was matched on the road, with the band supporting Imminence across Europe. Following up in the beginning for 2025 with a sold out headline tour and later sharing US stages with Invent, Animate and Silent Planet. Now returning to Europe for a full festival summer followed by a European headline tour in winter 2026, Allt enter a new live chapter defined by scale, intensity, and a renewed creative focus. With special guests Avralize and Bite Down, the tour marks the band’s most ambitious production to date. Alongside a selection of major European festivals, the winter run will see Allt headline venues across Europe, bringing a live show that reflects the band’s current evolution, more immersive & more dynamic than ever. The band comments: „We’re thrilled to bring you our biggest, most ambitious live production to date. We’re also very grateful to share the stage with the immensely talented Avralize and Bite Down. This will be Allt at our most vibrant yet, we can’t wait to get on the road again.”

GLAIVE

@ Lido Berlin

2023 erschien mit „i care so much that i dont care at all“ sein gefeiertes Debütalbum, das glaive die Stellung als Vorreiter im Digicore-Genre sicherte.

SLIFT

@ Lido Berlin

In the technical sense, every previous album by the radiant and heavy French trio SLIFT has been a fantasia—a composite of genres and forms that allowed the band to improvise, to jam on themes until they seemed to spiral together into space. Their acclaimed third album, 2024’s Ilion, was a sci-fi story built with 10- to 13-minute exploratory escapades, often starting with doom metal or stoner rock before spinning freely into glorious instrumental oblivion. But, in a bit of intentional irony, SLIFT’s fourth album is actually called Fantasia. It’s their leanest and most direct record to date; taken together, its eight songs clock in at less than 50 minutes. It is also their most riveting album yet, a pointed saga about overcoming international upheaval delivered by a band bearing down, not wasting a single second in the process. They wanted to write and render songs that recognized the turmoil of these days and to sing of a more hopeful vision, of a time when a reckoning arrives. SLIFT didn’t want to lose the message by playing too much. To wit, the longest song on Fantasia is the opening title track, a nine-minute preamble in which Jean Fossat screams of his desires for the world: rising above our pain, burying our dread, and finding, individually and collectively, “a fire for your soul.” The songs that follow aren’t lacking the complexity or intensity that have made SLIFT a rising, radical star in heavy music; it’s simply that they’ve found new ways to weave the complexities of their past inside every piece, like a tapestry that reveals a new layer every time you look. In doing so, they offer an affirming and urgent message: Together, we can still change the times in which we live. Though only Jean and bassist Rémi Fossat are related, SLIFT is essentially a band of brothers. They’ve been friends with drummer Canek Flores since high school, and 2026 marks a decade together in this trio. They rehearse with religious regularity in a basement in the countryside near Toulouse, inside the jam room where they’ve long indulged their propensity for longform wonder. But they built the songs of Fantasia differently. Jean started many of the songs by himself, then quickly brought them to basement rehearsals with a clear and concise idea of how he imagined them taking shape. At first, SLIFT struggled to keep the songs tight, old habits making them wonder if this song or that one shouldn’t break the double-digit threshold. By the time they crossed France’s northern border into Belgium to record in the enormous live room at Daft Studios, though, the songs were lean, agile, and punchy. They made most of them in a single take. As Jean Fossat wrote the core of Fantasia, he thought a lot about Jorge Luis Borges, the Argentinian author whose fiction deftly wove elements of magic and surreality into places and plots that almost felt real. He wanted to accomplish the same thing, to add supernatural touches to his contemplations of politics so that the listener might see reality differently, might question what they were missing about this plane. SLIFT even borrowed the song title “Orbis Tertius” from a 1940 Borges short story that uses the idea of subjective idealism—that is, believing the world only exists as far as our minds go—to ask questions of memory, history, possibility, and, ultimately, control. Fantasia, then, is an imagined town plagued by a sense of unknowing and xenophobia, of trying to eliminate anything that disrupts the accepted order. The town first comes into focus on “Corrupted Sky,” where lurid keyboards and a relentless rhythm section illustrate a city of power-hungry wastrels. Jean’s guitar solo feels like an exhilarating chase sequence in a video game, as he tries to dodge doom while arriving in Fantasia. They treat the newcomer like poison incarnate during the prog gem “The Village,” while he predicts their downfall during “A Storm of Wings.” In a mighty, fists-up anthem that suggests Clutch getting wild, SLIFT alludes to John Coltrane, Charlie Parker, and Soviet writer Mikhail Bulgakov to portend the arrival of some great liberating force, some redemptive truth. That slowly starts to emerge during the record’s back half, as memory returns to the masses, as people start to remember that they are more than the oppressive uniformity of their society. “Waiting Man”—a psychedelic ballad that suggests Pink Floyd wandering into the Master of Reality sessions—is the breaking point. The narrator realizes that the world he’s committed to is a lie. “I waited for love, waited my time,” Jean Fossat sings, his voice more vulnerable than it’s ever been. “Waited the seasons of my life.” He knows he must find his own way out of this mess and into something better, so long as it’s not too late.It is dreadfully easy these days to feel powerless. We have instant access to a world of news, and so much of it is so very heavy. SLIFT reckons directly with the modern onslaught of cruelty and absurdity on Fantasia, whether that’s not caring about our home planet or one another. But these eight songs are about trusting in some hidden power for fighting back, for believing in a world where something we cannot yet articulate or define offers not just a way to disrupt the status quo but perhaps to destroy it completely. SLIFT is loud, heavy, and aggressive inside these anthems. They’re preparing for a battle they think we can still win.

TEX SINGT LEOANARD COHEN

@ Lido Berlin

WEDNESDAY 13

@ Lido Berlin

Wednesday 13: The Duke of Spook Wednesday 13 (born Joseph Poole on August 12, 1976, in Charlotte, North Carolina – But don’t dare call him that) has established himself as one of the most distinctive voices in horror rock, earning his moniker "The Duke of Spook" through decades of creating music that blends horror themes with punk rock and metal. His musical journey began in the early 1990s with Maniac Spider Trash, an early horror punk project that laid the foundation for his signature style. While this project was relatively short-lived, it served as a crucial stepping stone in developing his horror-influenced musical direction. In 1996, he formed Frankenstein Drag Queens from Planet 13, a project that would become a significant influence in the horror punk scene. The band released several albums between 1996 and 2002, including "The Late, Late, Late Show," "Night of the Living Drag Queens," and "Songs from the Recently Deceased." These releases established Wednesday's trademark combination of horror movie references, dark humor, and punk rock energy. The band would later reunite for select performances, showcasing the enduring appeal of their original material. The formation of Murderdolls in 2002 marked a significant evolution in Wednesday's career. This collaboration with Joey Jordison of Slipknot brought his music to a broader audience within the metal community. Their debut album "Beyond the Valley of the Murderdolls" featured both new material and reworked versions of Frankenstein Drag Queens songs, introducing Wednesday's songwriting to a larger audience. The band toured extensively during this period, including supporting slots with major acts and building a particularly strong following in the UK and Japan. After a period of inactivity, Murderdolls returned in 2010 with "Women and Children Last," showcasing a heavier, more metal-oriented sound while maintaining their horror elements. This second era of the band featured guest appearances from artists like Mick Mars of Mötley Crüe before the project concluded. Wednesday 13's solo career officially launched in 2005 with "Transylvania 90210: Songs of Death, Dying, and the Dead." This album established his solo sound, which initially drew heavily from his horror punk roots while incorporating elements of glam metal and hard rock. His theatrical presentation began to evolve during this period, developing the elaborate stage shows that would become his trademark. Throughout his solo career, Wednesday has been supported by various talented musicians who have helped shape his sound. Notable members have included bassist Nate Manor, drummer Kyle Castronovo, whose powerful playing style helped drive the band's heavier direction, and longtime guitarist Roman Surman, who has been crucial in developing the band's sound across multiple albums. Other significant contributors have included drummer Johnny Chops, guitarist Jack Tankersley, and bassist Piggy D (known for his later work with Rob Zombie), who performed during the "Transylvania 90210" era. His musical evolution has been particularly notable in his later releases. While maintaining his horror themes, Wednesday's sound has grown increasingly heavy and complex. "Necrophaze" (2019) marked a significant step in this evolution, incorporating more electronic and industrial elements while featuring collaborations with artists including Alice Cooper and Cristina Scabbia of Lacuna Coil. The album's production by Michael Spreitzer of DevilDriver helped create a more polished, modern metal sound. "Horrifier" (2022) continued this progression with some of his heaviest material to date, with a new album (TBA) announced for 2025. Beyond his main projects, Wednesday has explored different musical territories with side projects including Bourbon Crow, which showcased his appreciation for outlaw country music with a horror twist, and Gunfire 76, which explored a more straightforward rock 'n' roll sound influenced by artists like Hanoi Rocks and the New York Dolls. His live performances have evolved significantly over the years, growing from basic horror punk shows into elaborate theatrical productions. Modern Wednesday 13 concerts feature multiple costume changes, sophisticated lighting designs, video projections, and various practical effects that enhance the horror movie atmosphere. His setlists skillfully blend fan favorites with newer material, showcasing both his horror punk roots and more recent metal-oriented songs. Wednesday's influence on the horror rock scene extends beyond music to include merchandise design and visual aesthetics. His artwork and merchandise often incorporate vintage horror movie poster designs and his own artistic vision, creating unique collectibles that appeal to both music and horror fans. His stage costumes and makeup designs have evolved to become increasingly elaborate while maintaining his signature horror aesthetic.

COCKNEY REJECTS

@ Lido Berlin

Rarely in the long history of British rock’n’roll has there been a story of such depth, magnitude and sheer turbulence as that of the Cockney Rejects. The band were formed in the late Seventies in East London as an answer to the art school punk that had dominated the scene up until then. Fiercely working class in stance and attitude, the band eschewed the political ramblings of punk’s first wave and sang about the circumstances that surrounded them and millions of street kids in Britain’s inner cities- Police harassment, street battles and football to name three. Signed by EMI after playing four local gigs (less than the pistols!) they found themselves playing sell out tours the length and breadth of the UK and seeing their debut album storm the charts. Top of the pops appearances followed, which became the stuff of legend as the band generally ran amok in the hallowed White city studios, finally getting banned from the show for their boisterous behavior. In 1980 the band recorded a riotous version of ‘I’m forever blowing bubbles’ to celebrate the fact that their beloved West Ham United had reached the FA cup final that year, but their devotion to all things claret and blue proved to be their downfall as the gigs became battlegrounds between the band and rival supporters, culminating in the vicious ‘Battle of Birmingham’ that led to serious criminal charges that in turn led to the band being finished as a touring unit. With the band’s first phase being over, in the interim they were discovered by a brand new fanbase such as US bands Rancid and Green Day, who cherished the Rejects and their terrace punk singalong anthems which, in turn, inspired a new generation of kids to check them out. Due to overwhelming demand, the band returned to the live circuit in 2000, and have since gone from strength to strength, playing to hundreds of thousands of people across the globe with a live set that is so energetic that it has to be seen to be believed. With the fractionalization of the late ‘70’s and early ‘80’s now gone for good, with every gig becoming a party for fans and band alike, the Cockney Rejects go from strength to strength. There has never been a better time to check out the band that inspired a generation with their timeless brand of terrace sing along classics and white hot live set. Join the Rejects - You won’t have a better night out all year!

GUANA BATZ

@ Lido Berlin

Sommer 1982 in London. „Back to the Jungle“ ist auf Tombstone Records erschienen. Don´t miss it.

GEORGIA CAVALLO

@ Lido Berlin
