Wir feiern 40 Jahre „Black Celebration“ von Depeche Mode und 40 Jahre „Standing on the Beach“ von The Cure – zwei Veröffentlichungen aus einer Zeit, deren Musik bis heute nichts von ihrer Wirkung verloren hat.
Es waren die Jahre, in denen Post-Punk, New Wave und elektronische Musik ihren eigenen Sound entwickelten: dunkle Gitarren, analoge Synthesizer, treibende Basslines, Melancholie und Düsternis – und gleichzeitig diese ganz besondere Energie, die einen guten Song irgendwann direkt auf den Dancefloor zieht.
The Cure und Depeche Mode stehen dabei im Mittelpunkt, aber natürlich nicht allein. Wir spielen uns durch Post-Punk, Dark 80s, Synthpop, EBM, Coldwave, Gothic Rock und New Wave – von großen Klassikern bis zu den Stücken, bei denen man nach den ersten Takten sofort wieder weiß, warum man sie damals geliebt hat.
Für viele von uns ist das keine Musik aus einem vergangenen Jahrzehnt. Sie ist Teil unserer eigenen Geschichte. Wir haben sie auf Mixtapes gehört, auf Kopfhörern entdeckt, in Clubs getanzt und irgendwann einfach nie wieder losgelassen.
A STRANGE NIGHT ist deshalb keine Retro-Show und kein Abend zum Abhaken alter Hits. Es geht um Musik, die geblieben ist, um Songs, die immer noch funktionieren, und um das Gefühl, wenn der erste Bass einsetzt und man sofort wieder weiß, warum man diese Musik liebt.
Zwei Jubiläen. Eine Nacht. Zwei Floors. Und ein Lebensgefühl, das man nicht einfach hinter sich lässt.

We celebrate 40 years of „Black Celebration“ by Depeche Mode and 40 years of „Standing on the Beach“ by The Cure – two releases from an era whose music has lost none of its impact.
These were the years when Post-Punk, New Wave and electronic music developed their own distinctive sound: dark guitars, analogue synthesizers, driving basslines, melancholy and darkness – combined with that special energy that can take a great song straight to the dancefloor.
The Cure and Depeche Mode are at the heart of the night, but they are far from alone. Expect Post-Punk, Dark 80s, Synthpop, EBM, Coldwave, Gothic Rock and New Wave – from the great classics to those tracks where the first few seconds are enough to remind you exactly why you loved them.
For many of us, this is not simply music from a bygone decade. It is part of our own history. We discovered it on mixtapes, listened to it through headphones, danced to it in clubs – and somewhere along the way, we simply never let it go.
A STRANGE NIGHT is not a retro show and not an evening of ticking off old hits. It is about music that has stayed with us, songs that still work, and that feeling when the first bassline kicks in and you immediately remember why you love this music.
Two anniversaries. One night. Two floors. And a way of life you never simply leave behind.
